Ground Set For ESA PARK English Premier League Fans Cup Kick off.

The ESA PARK English Premier League (EPL) Fans’ Tournament is a new ‘baby’- competition introduced by the Park management for the fans that support their respective EPL teams and it’s set to kick off this Saturday 15th March at Kitubulu in Entebbe.

At the launch held on Monday at ESA Park complex, many teams had expressed interest in participating in the tournament, but Eight (8) teams confirmed thier participation in the first ever EPL fans tournament in Uganda by paying their respective registration fees.

Speaking at the official launch of the ESA Park (EPL) Fans tournament on Monday evening, ESA Park CEO who doubles as the chairman organising committee Mugabi Miph, expressed the readiness for the tournament to role.

” I would love to appreciate every one here for the turn up and effort, I believe we are ready to kick off this tournament on Saturday, we would love to have as many teams as possible but we have decided to go with those that have fulfilled the registration requirements. We are good to go the trophy is already here we have had three preparation meetings which have been fruitful so I call upon all fans of different clubs to come and support the team managers here so that we can have a very successful first edition.” He stated.

 

Manchester United Fans team manager Wasswa David Ramos expressed their readiness to win the inugural title having spent 12 years in England with out lifting the prestigious title they have won 13 times.

 

We are ready to go as Manchester United Fans and our target is to win this Fans title in Uganda and I want to.call upon all Manchester United Fans to come join me for the success of our club. With no chances of winning it in England, so winning this one in Uganda will be good competition for us. So we have to give our best to winning it.” Wasswa told this site. 

 

The Eight teams that confirmed their participation in the first ever English Premier fans tournament in Uganda include; Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Westham United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

According to the chairman organising committee Mugabi, who was flanked by senior administrator and Ex footballer Goerge Otika, confirmed fixtures will be out on Wednesday for the tournament to kick off officially on Saturday 15th March 2025.

For starters, the fans tournament will be played every Saturday on a league basis at ESA Park in Kitubulu and the team that will accumulate the most points will crowned champions and will walk away with an EPL replica trophy and cash prize.

ESA Park – a 7 aside artificial turf playing field based in Kitubulu, has got other tournaments they have always been played since initiation in 2022 that include; the ESA PARK Premier League (EPPL), ESA Park Agada Cup (EPAC 35+) and the ESA Park Christmas Cup (EPXC) and now the EPL Fans tournament.
