Kitara Football Club edged new boys Kigezi Homeboys 1-0 in Hoima and other new comers, Ntugasaze FC beat the Ankole Lions 1-0 to register their first wins as the StarTimes Uganda Premier returned from a lengthy international break.

Defender Edward Namasa, found the back of the net in the 23rd minute to ensure the Stanbic Uganda Cup reigning champions earn their first league win having draw both the first two games 1-1 away to SC Villa and Express FC.

Ugandan representatives in the CAF Confederation cup Kitara FC, will face Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC in the second qualifying round on 17th October 2016 at Hoima city Stadium, and the return leg will be played in Cairo on 25th October.

At Kira road police arena, Opar Jacob scored for debutants Ntungasaze to get their first win and points in Uganda top tier football, having lost all the first four games they played; 4-0 to Vipers at Kitende, 4-1 away to BUL, 3-1 to Maroons at home and the league opener 1-0 away to follow newcomers Blacks Power.

Other new boys Kataka FC, got their second point of top tier life when they held the Seventeen- time(s) champions SC in Bukedea. Ali Sentamu scored for ‘the Lufumbi’ and Najib Yiga scored for the Jogoos in a 1-1 draw.

In Luzira, the Mbili Mbili bagged their second win of tye season when they thumped 10- man Ankole Lions 3-0. Forward Fred Amaku scored in the 57th minute, Dickson Nuwamanya in the 76th and Baden Mujaid put the icing on the cake in the 80th minute.

Two red cards were flashed on matchday five; Mbarara City’s Ambrose Arinda was sent off in the 72nd minute and forward Francis Onekalit was shown matching orders in 80th minute for Lugazi.

Startimes Uganda Premier action returns on Thursday, as reigning league champions Vipers SC visit newcomers Blacks Power FC, and high flying NEC will host the Red Eagles in the late kick off game at Lugogo

Uganda Independence day Football celebrations, will be at Hamz Stadium- Nakivubo with a double header; Abdallah Mubiru’s UPPC FC will entertain Matia Lule’s Police FC at 5pm, with an aim to revange, the printer’s having lost the same fixture last season at Bugonga Fisheries and URA FC will take on KCCA FC at 8pm.

SC Villa elavated to second place with 11 points, one behind log leaders BUL, Maroons are now 7th placed with 6 points, Kitara ninth with five, Ntugasaze 15th with 3 points, Mbarara city 16th, Kataka FC 17th and Kigezi Homeboys bottom placed with a single point.
