Ground set for the prestigious Mugisha Christmas Cup kick-off.

Mugisha Christmas Cup 2026 set to kick off mid- November, preparations are in advanced stages with seven teams, so far confirmed participating and are ready to compete in this year’s edition.

According to the chairman organising committee, Mr Dan Ntale, registration is currently ongoing at Uganda Shillings 200,000, and the tournament is open to any team willing to be part.

Among the teams that have already secured slots include; SMACK Staff Team, Mpala Elites, Kitende Select, Church FC, Kisubi United, Ex-Internationals, Kisubi United FC and Network FC.

Chairman Ntale called upon teams out there that are willing to be part and as well those that have registered teams to endeavor attend a preparations meeting coming up.

All teams interested in participating in the Mugisha X-mas Cup 2026 are warmly invited to attend an important teams’ meeting, which we shall have on 3rd October 2026 at Brothers Garden, near Kisubi Police Station at 4pm.

The meeting will cover important tournament updates, registration, fixtures, rules, and other preparations.
We encourage all teams to attend and be part of the preparations. Ntale stated.

Other teams that have expressed interest include; Jjanyi FC, Kataka FC Tanda FC, Nalugala FC, Bwerenga FC, Fimbo Soccer Academy, Lake View FC, Downtown FC, Kanya Select,Garuga FC, Bugiri FC, Aurum Roses Company, Kawuku (Muzikiti) among others but are yet to finalize with the registration process.

The champion of Mugisha Christmas tournament, will walk away with a bull, trophy, a set of jersey, a new ball, gold medals with certificates, and transport for the bull inclusive.

The first runners-up, will take home a big goat, a set of jersey, silver medals, a new ball, transport of the goat, and will be awarded certificates of participation

A team that will win the 3rd place classification match, will walk away with a set of jersey,a new ball, and Bronze medals.

The fourth placed team overall, will get a new ball and certificates.

Different outstanding performers that include the top scorer, best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, best coach, and smartest team will be awarded as well. The goal of the tournament will be identified and the scorer will also be rewarded.

In every game that will be played in this tournament, an outstanding player will be awarded as the Man of the Match, and an ex international will be available to give out the accolade.

The younger player award will also be available and as well, the MVP or golden boy award for the most outstanding player at the end of the tournament will be available.

Among the playgrounds expected to be used include; SMACK, Kisubi University,
Benedict – kisubi, Kids of Afica Bwerenga and Nkumba Kataka pitch

According to the chairman organizing committee, Mr Ntale, each team that will fully complete the registration process will receive a new ball and a certificate of registration.
