Ivan Ahimbisibwe “Hunter” marked KCCA FC return with a match- winner against former paymasters

Ivan Ahimbisibwe crowned his return to Kampala Capital City Authority FC in style scoring the lone goal as KCCA FC edged URA FC 1-0 in the Authority derby played yesterday at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.

The striker, fondly known as “The Hunter” for his ruthless eye for goals started on the bench on his return to Lugogo where he had previously spent one season before his move to Zakho FC in Iraq.

Furthermore , Ahimbisibwe, who finished as the Uganda Premier League top scorer last season with 14 goals was introduced in the second half by KCCA FC Gaffer Brian Ssenyondo to change a game that had ended goalless at halftime.

The move paid off instantly. Skilful pacy winger Sammy Ssebadukka delivered a well-measured assist into the box, finding the Hunter who was very composed to fire home a wonderful goal in the 58th minute against his former paymasters.

The Hunter known for his composure in front of goal and regarded as one of the best strikers in the country nearly doubled the lead but saw his penalty kick sail over the crossbar.

Even so, his predatory instincts and calmness in the box proved the difference on the day.

“It was amazing scoring on my return and I will work hard to score more goals for my team to win games,” Ahimbisibwe said after netting the winner that gave KCCA FC maximum points.

The result lifts KCCA FC to 7th place with seven points, having won two games, drawn one and lost two.

Earlier at the same stadium, Entebbe UPPC FC convincingly secured a 3-0 victory over Police FC with midfielder Steven Munguchi scoring a brace and striker Ambrose Kigozi adding a late goal in the dying minutes.
