
U-20 Star Bugembe Aware of Big task ahead of him on Joining Vipers
Uganda Hippos star Issa Bugembe is aware of a big task ahead of him and has promised to give his best to the club after completing his move to St Mary’s stadium.
The 19 year old who is set to be unveiled to the fans before the end of this week according to this site’s reliable source, expressed his readiness to compete at a big club and win trophies for the club.

He joins Vipers SC on a three year deal from Bright Stars where he has also spent three years before contract expiry.

I hope to build on what I have been offering to Bright Stars and even give more here. The fans should expect much from me, I well know the pressure at big clubs because the demand for results is always high. Though even the small teams have it but am ready to handle the pressure and deliver with my ability.
He also pointed at the trust invested in him as a motivational factor to pay back to the club.

When a big club like Vipers trusts me than the sky is the limit, am just going to give my best to climb to greater heights and I believe there much ahead of me.
The versatile player, signed for Bright Stars in the SUPL in 2021/22 season, where he has spent three complete seasons.
Bugembe has represented Uganda at the U-17 and U-20 junior levels and was first summoned to the National (17) team in 2020 for the CECAFA Championship.

He also featured in the Masaza Cup for Busujju in 2020 after the CECAFA U-17 Championship before he joined Bright Stars.
He won the U-17 CECAFA title before graduating to the Hippos’ team, where he represented his country in the Rwanda CECAFA in 2023.
He as well, was part of the Kobs (U-23) team that played the Tonny Mawejje testimonial matches at Lugogo and in Masaka.
He has managed one goal for his country so for the U-20 in the Sudan CECAFA and also scored one goal for Bright Stars.

Bugembe is a natural central midfielder, who can play in the defensive and attacking midfield roles but can as well be played as an attacker.
Bugembe captained Kawempe Royal college at the Jinja 2019 USSSA games before he joined Royal giant Mityana.

A S.5 student at St Mary’s Kitende, he joins a long list of graduates from school to club. He has so far scored 6 goals for the school he joined this year.
Issa started his football career at God is Able football academy owned by coach Lwanga Samuel before he joined Sparta.
Bugembe joins striker Kenneth Kimera and left back Derrick Ndahiro that were earlier unveiled at Kitende.
