Wakiso Giants FC gigantic defender Edward Saturo turned into a ‘Karate Master’ as he kicked Onduparaka FC’s Rashid Yakini in the chest during the sides’ one-all draw in Arua on Tuesday.
The incident was not noticed by the center referee but on a video recording making rounds on social media, that kick could have been good for the game of KickBoxing but not Football.
On that note, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has suspended the player for a fortnight.
“The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has handed the Wakiso Giants player a suspension of 13 days from football activities effective December 10, 2021. He breached Article 31(2) of the FUFA Competitions Rules,” read part of the FUFA statement released on Friday.
“Satulo played violently towards an opponent in the game between Onduparaka FC and Wakiso Giants FC in Arua. The management of the club is directed to ensure implementation of the above sanction or it will suffer the consequences of fielding ineligible persons,” the statement added.
As a result, the defender will miss the Purple Sharks next three fixtures starting with a home tie against UPDF FC on Saturday, December 11.
He will also be out of action against Mbarara City FC and Arua Hill SC on Match day 11 and 12 respectively. He will return after Christmas against URA FC on December 28.
