Football, at its purest, is about answering when called. Paul Kaweesi heard it. Thrice.

Masanyalaze captain, striker by trade, became guardian of the posts when Waliggo Akram was absent.

One win. One draw. One penalty saved that stole breath and earned him Man of the Match award.

Across the divide, Dickson Karamagi of Team Muliro wrote his own verse.

Captain, leader, lifter of spirits. And yes, a keeper for a day, and Man of the Match.

Two captains. Two stories. One award. The final day decides.

The Golden Boot

Entertaining joy to watch Sirajje Kisekka on Six goals.

The Masanyalaze midfielder, conductor and finisher, sits at the top the chart.

With one game left, the golden boot feels like it already has his fingerprints on it. Surely, it is his to lose.

Next up is the Most Valuable Player award (MVP).

Yet Kisekka’s brilliance stretches beyond goals. Five assists. One Man of the Match. He doesn’t just score he orchestrates. The numbers scream MVP.

But listen closely. There’s a Oyalo Fabiano drumbeat behind him.

Three goals. A hattrick match ball tucked under his arm. One Man of the Match.

Who will take this most prestigious award home??

It all awaits on the final day.

Furthermore, the Best Defender award also has two contenders.

At the back, where games are won in silence, Ashiraf Atiku has been Kikompola’s wall.

Six goals conceded all season. One scored. One Man of the Match.

His steel is why Kikompola taste their first ever final.

Then there is Dan Musomesa of Masanyalaze.

Eight conceded, one scored, but it is the consistency, the skill, the calm that carried Masanyalaze to a third straight final day.

Two defenders. One shield. Who takes it?

Turning onto the Best Home Based Player.

Emma Mugerwa, Kikompola’s shot stopper leads it.

Six games. Four conceded. Three clean sheets. Hands like magnets, presence like stone.

Opposing him, Omony Brian “Virus” of Masanyalaze.

Seven games. Six assists. One goal. A midfielder who infects games with brilliance.

Goal of the Season award.

This one lives on the edge. Strikes that stopped time will have the Goal of the Season award.

Ashiraf Atiku’s thunderbolt from beyond halfway, a meteor that kissed the net as Kikompola drew Masanyalaze.

Team Muliro’s Malik also competes closely.

He calmly, controlled the ball then a sharp turn to strike.

From the edge of the 18, a brushstroke of genius against Masanyalaze.

The best Excellent Captaincy awards comes in.

To lead is to bleed for others.

Paul Kaweesi and Dickson Karamagi have done just that.

Tireless, passionate and leading by example when lungs burned and legs begged.

Masanyalaze and Muliro rose because their captains refused to let them fall.
