UFL:MUTEESA I ROYAL AND ST LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY GOALLESS DRAW LEAVES ALL TO PLAY FOR IN KAVULE
Muteesa 1 Royal University and St Lawrence University played out a tense 0-0 draw in the University Football League semi-final first leg at their home ground.
The hosts had early chances through Busuulwa Patrick, whose effort was well tackled by SLAU defender Kamya Dickson.
Ali Lutwama’s freekick also tested SLAU goalkeeper Mohammed Kateete, who made a crucial save.

As the game wore on, SLAU began to find their feet, with Okello Ivan trying his luck from distance, only to be denied by Muteesa’s goalkeeper Kayanja.
The SLAU captain, Ziraba Ronnie, created a good opportunity for Okello, but Busuulwa was on hand to defend.
The second half saw more of the same, with both teams creating chances but failing to convert.

Brian Rwothomio’s header flew just inches wide, while Katende Eric’s long-distance strike was palled by SLAU goalkeeper Mohammed Kateete.
Muteesa’s goalkeeper Kayanja also made a good save to deny SLAU’s midfielder Munanira, who had a great opportunity to score.

As the game entered its final minutes, SLAU’s Agaku Vicent made a crucial interception to prevent Busuulwa from scoring.
The five minutes of added time didn’t yield anything, and the game ended goalless.

The stage is set for a thrilling second leg in Kavule next week on Thursday, 16th April , where one team will book their place in the final.
