UFL:KAMPALA UNIVERSITY OVERCOMES BUGEMA TO REACH SEMI-FINALS

Kampala University (KU) has progressed to the University Football League semi-finals after a tense 0-0 draw against Bugema University at FUFA Stadium Kadiba.

The two-time champions secured their spot on aggregate, having drawn 1-1 in the first leg in Bugema.

Kampala University dominated possession and created chances, but Bugema’s defence held strong.

Ebong Mark’s creativity and Wannume Gilbert’s striking threats kept Bugema on their toes, but the visitors’ goalkeeper Kalungi made crucial saves.

In the second half, player of the day, Ebong Mark dribbled through Bugema’s midfield, trying to find KU striker Wannume, but he was outplayed by defender Nyakusinga.

Bugema’s Nuwatuha had a great opportunity to score, but Kampala University defender Benjamin Nsubuga made a great tackle.

Later, Kizito Adiru’s shot went far wide from an overlap.

With ten minutes to play, Kampala University’s defensive strategy kicked in, and they held on for the 0-0 draw, securing their semi-finals spot.
