KCCA Football Club edged newcomers Kataka FC 1-0 to get their first league victory of 2026/27 season in the StarTimes Uganda premier league game played at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.
KCCA FC, lost the first two games to NEC FC and Express with the same score line 2-0 and was held 0-0 by newcomers Kigezi Home boys FC in the third encounter.
Emmanuel Anyama scored KCCA FC only goal on the day and their first of the season in the 58th minute, that proved the difference in an entertaining encounter at Lugogo.
Elsewhere in the SUPL, Entebbe based – UPPC FC, was held by the Ankole lions to a goal-less draw at Rwamwanja stadium in Kamwenge.
Also, Police Football Club got their second win of the season away from home, defeating Lugazi FC 2-0.
Defender Richard Matovu and midfielder Abdulshakur Jemba scored for the visitors.
KCCA FC, elevated to 8th position with 4 points 4 games played, Entebbe UPPC FC dropped to 6th with 7 points and Police climbed to 5th position with 7 points with a better goal difference than UPPC FC.
Startimes Uganda Premier League action returns tomorrow Thursday, with two games at Hamz stadium Nakivubo and anothet one in Bombo as UPDF FC welcome Maroons in a battle of forces.
