USSSA:KASASA GEARS FOR GLORY

St Charles Lwanga Secondary School Kasasa, a traditional school in Uganda, is set to make a mark in the upcoming USSSA games.

Founded in 1955 by the Brothers of Christian Instructions in Kisubi, Kasasa has been a powerhouse in Masaka regional football.

The Kalungu-based school will begin their journey in the post-primary games on March 20, 2026.

“We started preparations early, and our football teams are organized and ready to win trophies this year,” said Mr. Arinaitwe Daniel, Games Master at St Charles Lwanga SS Kasasa.

The football boys team is looking to bounce back from last year’s disappointments, having lost the Kalungu district finals and Masaka region quarterfinals.

They also lost the 2025 Lamennais tournament finals to St Henry’s College Kitovu on penalties in Kanungu.

The girls’ football team, however, is coming in strong, having defended their Kalungu district title and progressing to the national championship in Ngora last year.

A strong squad led by Ntume Alex Junior, Kayabula Deogratious, and Ssebuliba Travis is expected to lead the team to triumph.

Kasasa has produced notable football talents, including Nicholas Kasozi, Pius Kaggwa, Oyirwoth Douglas, Henry Kayondo Kalaga Mbido ,Erias Kiyemba, Ismail Ssekanjako , Wasswa Shaban Songo and David Kakande, among others.

The school has also excelled in hockey, with Agaba Alfred,Kyamanywa Topher, Mutalya Solomon, Walusansa Peter, Ntumba Timothy, Tumwesigye Ashiraf and Ekopolon Charles representing the national team.

Known with thier vibrant slogan “Omusasa Tapowa,” history and talented players, Abasasa are ready to make a statement in this year’s USSSA games.
