UPL: Coach Mbalangu Backs URA FC to End Goal Drought Against SC Villa
URA FC will host record Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa in a Valentine’s Day double-header on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo. The highly anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off at 8:00pm.
The Tax Collectors head into the fixture under pressure, currently sitting 14th on the league table. URA endured a difficult end to the first round, going seven matches without a win and failing to score a single league goal during that stretch.

Despite the struggles, head coach Hussein Mbalangu remains confident his side is ready to turn the corner.
“When I recruit players, I tell them, ‘My name is Mbalangu,’ and I always ask them to wear my name every time they step onto the pitch,” he said. “We’re going to start winning from Saturday against SC Villa. The players have the Mbalangu DNA, and we are going to win.”
URA have been active in the transfer window in a bid to revive their campaign, bringing in experienced midfielder Moses Waiswa and Rahmat Ssenfuka to strengthen the squad.
On the other hand, sixth-placed SC Villa will be aiming to complete a season double over URA. The Jogoos convincingly defeated the Tax Collectors 3-0 in their first-round meeting at Kadiba and will be eager to replicate that performance.

SC Villa have seen minimal movement in the transfer window, with Tonny Atukunda the only notable departure from the squad.
With URA desperate to end their winless and goalless run, and SC Villa pushing to maintain momentum in the top half of the table, the Valentine’s Day encounter promises to be a compelling contest under the Nakivubo lights.
Will Mbalangu’s “DNA” spark a revival for the Tax Collectors, or will the record champions assert their dominance once again?
