UPL: Ahimbisibwe’s Genius Finish Steals the Show in Kampala Derby

KCCA FC forward Ivan “The Hunter” Ahimbisibwe produced a moment of magic that sent Kasasiro fans into a frenzy at the Mandela National Stadium on Saturday night.

Ahimbisibwe’s sensational strike opened the scoring for KCCA FC in their 2–1 victory over rivals SC Villa in the Kampala Derby. The forward’s clinical finish in the 31st minute dictated proeedings, setting the tone for a fiercely contested clash between the two giants.

This was Ahimbisibwe’s debut goal in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for KCCA FC, adding to the single goal he had already netted in the FUFA Super 8 Tournament earlier this season.

His spectacular finish drew comparisons to his memorable goal for Uganda during the CHAN Tournament, also at Namboole, where he found the net against Guinea — a reminder of his composure and precision in front of goal.

In another development, Kitara FC were awarded a walkover after Vipers SC failed to honor their fixture in protest of the new league format — a bold stance that has stirred debate across Ugandan football.
