Henry Gama three points off Busoga Province was a clear signal that he came to compete for the biggest prize in the tournament as earlier stated and quoted by this site after knocking out Rwenzori 4-2 in the preliminary knock stages.

Karim Ndugwa bagged a brace as Bunyoro Province defeated Busoga 2-1 in their FUFA drum group C opener played on Sunday in Matete and was named Man of the Match. Sowedi Lwenda scored for the visitors.

Ndugwa first half double was enough for Gama cached side to walk away with maximum points against Drum big boys Busoga.

” It was an important game for us being our first game and their second us, in regards to achieving our first target of making out of the group. they were boasted by their first win against Kigezi so we had to lay clear strategies to get maximum points. It would have been bad for us not to get positive results at home, Busoga has pedigree in the tournament for their previous performance in drum but we had to tactical lay good strategies to win the game. We had a few challenges that some players have been down not playing the league, and others were still doing body conditioning and may be also we get little time players before the game. The most important thing is we got the points and just like I earlier stated our first target is to get out of the group but our mission is to win the title.”
Busoga Province lost 2-1 to Bunyoro but had in their group opener beaten Kigezi 2-0, tied at one goal difference, Busoga lead the group with more (1) goal scored having managed 3 goals in the two games.

Bunyoro Province will take on Kigezi in their second group game on a date that is yet to be communicated.

Im the other previous games played, Sadat Anku scored in West Nile Province 1-0 win over Bugisu Province, Lango drew 0-0 with Buganda and Joseph Ssemujju scored in Tooro 1-0 away win against Kampala.
