She Cranes Embark on a Crucial Journey to the UK for Vitality Netball Nations Cup
The Uganda national netball team, the She Cranes, has officially set off for the United Kingdom to compete in the highly anticipated 2025 Vitality Netball Nations Cup. The tournament, scheduled from February 1 to 9 in Nottingham, presents a significant test for the team as they prepare to face world-class opposition.
A Staggered Departure Due to Visa Delays
While the journey began on Wednesday morning, only eight players were able to travel as planned. The remaining fourβGloria Aya, Rachael Nanyonga, Hindu Namutebi, and Joan Ryekobothβfaced delays in receiving their visas. However, optimism remains high within the camp as officials expect the remaining players to obtain their travel documents and join the squad by Thursday.
Despite the logistical hurdles, the She Cranes are determined to make a strong impression on the international stage. The team will be bolstered by the arrival of star shooter Mary Nuba, who will join them directly from Australia, where she plays professionally for the Queensland Firebirds.
