UFL:MUTEESA I ROYAL UNIVERSITY MAKES IT TO THE HISTORIC FINALS

Muteesa I Royal University made history by winning their first-ever spot in the University Football League finals, defeating St Lawrence University (SLAU) 1-3 in the semi-final second leg away game.

The match started with Katende Eric testing SLAU’s defence, but they held firm initially.

However, Katende opened the scoring for Muteesa, meeting Ali Lutwama’s cross.

SLAU quickly equalized through Ssemanda Collins’s freekick.

Muteesa’s dangerman Captain Ali Lutwama restored their lead with a superb freekick.

In the second half, Muteesa dominated possession of the ball.

Forward Brian Rwothomio scored a third goal, capitalizing on a rebound from Katende Eric’s strike.

Despite SLAU’s late push, Muteesa held on, with player of the day Katende Eric hitting the post.

SLAU’s Owane Yasin tried to strike back for SLAU, but his shot was denied by goalkeeper Ssemukasa.

Katende Eric, the Player of the Day, was instrumental in Muteesa’s win.

The victory sends Muteesa I Royal University to the University Football League Finals, where they will face YMCA.
