SUPL:SC VILLA BRINGS BACK WINNING HISTORY IN BUGONGA

The full packed Bugonga grounds witnessed record champions SC Villa humbling Entebbe UPPC FC 2-0.

For starters, winning history has repeated itself for SC Villa, which had last played in Bugonga in the 2017/2018 season commanding a win over Masavu FC.

The game started with Ambrose Kigozi’s open chance in the second minute, but Villa goalie Lukwago saved well.

He got another chance, but Villa’s Lubangakene tactically defended.

“American Boy” Frank Ssebuufu scored the opener for Sports Club Villa in just 10 minutes, courtesy of a well-placed cross from Patrick Kakande.

Najib Yiga doubled the Jogoos’s lead after a great assist from Hassan Mubiru.

Half an hour in, Patrick Kakande had a great chance to stretch Villa’s lead, but UPPC’s Odong defended well.

Ambrose Kigozi had another chance, but his shot was tip-saved by David Lukwago.

Hassan Mubiru’s brilliant play into the final third rattled the side goalposts.

In the second half, UPPC goalkeeper Omedwa saved a great shot from substitute Ibrahim Kasinde to deny Villa a third goal.

With 20 minutes to play, Patrick Kakande created another opportunity for Villa, but it fell flat.

Ambrose Kigozi received another chance to score a consolation, but his effort went inches over the bar.

The game ended 2-0 in Villa’s favour.

Sports Club Villa now moves to 41 points, while Entebbe UPPC FC stays on 36 points.

Defender Geoffrey Lubangakene was named Man of the Match.
