SUPL:SSENKABA ETCHES NAME INTO HOIMA CITY STADUIM ARCHIVES
Kitara FC striker George Ssenkaba has etched his name in the archives as the first player to score a top-tier league goal at Hoima City Stadium.
The 20,000-seater stadium was electric with passionate fans who had turned up for the historic Derby Day in the Bunyoro region.
Ssenkaba went on to score his second goal of the day, and Kabon Living also notched a brace to make it 4-0 for the Royals before half time.
There were no more goals in the second half, with the game ending 4-0 in favour of the hosts Kitara FC.
The Hoima City Stadium, constructed on 16.8 hectares by H/S Summa Contractors, boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a mini Olympic swimming pool, an outdoor pitch, and a running track, as well as two basketball and two volleyball courts.
The stadium took over $129 million to complete and was commissioned by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last December.
