UG CUP: TOP GIANTS MARCH ON TO ROUND 32 IN STANBIC UGANDA CUP

Defending champions Vipers SC, SC Villa ,KCCA FC, Entebbe UPPC FC, NEC FC, and Express FC are some of the Uganda Premier league teams that have so far progressed to round 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

For Starters, the Stanbic Uganda Cup 52nd Edition Round 64 Started yesterday with a number of games on different venues.

Vipers SC played on away in Lira where Nigerian born international Odili Chukwuma first half goal helped venoms to seal a hard fought 1-0 win.

In another match, KCCA FC also progressed after a 2-0 win over St George Masindi FC.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Emmanuel Anyama scored for the Kasasiro boys.

Going forward, Express FC skipped an early exit after scoring a late equaliser to send the game to penalties where they won 7-6.

Mbarara City also came from a goal down and won 1-2 against Busia Youngstars FC.

Next up, Eastern Giants BUL FC with so far the biggest win of this knockout smoothly progressed to last 32.

BUL FC scored seven goals past Agape Utd Kotido FC.

Striker Karim Ndugwa scored four goals while Seiri Arigumaho had an hattrick on the day.

UPDF FC showed thier pedigree as they silenced Nsambya SC in a 1-2 win.

Striker Samson Kigozi scored one and the other was an own goal from a corner kick.

Coming on today, SC Villa with Captain Douglas Owori and Aslam Ssemakula goals were all enough for the jogoos to go past Paliisa Hospital FC in a 1-2 tight game.

Uganda Premier league second placed Entebbe UPPC FC also have raised the bars again after winning it all in Koboko.

A Second half goal from a substitute Faizal Tumwine was all that mattered for the printers to seal to round 32.

Meanwhile in Soroti, Kitara FC with a 1-0 win also secured a berth to the next round.

Youngstar Byaruhanga was on target for the Royals.

Turning on the die hards game, NEC FC moved to the round 32 after a 2-0 win over Mabira Town Council FC.

Thanks to Midfielder Mugalu and debutant Ssenonga Kagawa’s goals.

On the other side, Coach Matia Lule’s side Police FC punched their round 32 ticket with a 0-3 over Mairye United in Luweero.

Charles Bbale with a brace and Umar Kasumba scored for the Cops.

Lugazi FC sealed thier 2-0 win over Kampala Regional side Kisugu Utd FC.

Mungudit and another own goal were enough for the leaders to seal their 1-2 win.

Additionally, Joshua Lubwama Leeti lone strike helped URA FC to advance to round 32 over Patongo United FC.

Lastly, the Jalilers Maroons FC also qualified after thier 1-2 narrow win against Paidha Utd FC.

Brian Nkuubi and Dickson Niwamanya scored for Maroons FC.

Mbale Heores FC and Buhimba Utd Saints FC are some of the top club eliminated so far.

Round 64 games will resume on Sunday with a eight games on card.
