KATAKA INDEPENDENCE CUP: GARUGA STARS EYE GLORY IN THURSDAY FINAL

The Kataka Independence Cup will climax this Thursday with an exciting final showdown between Garuga Stars FC and Team Kayingini at the Nkumba Kataka Playground.

The 2023/2024 Wakiso Fourth Division Champions, Garuga Stars, head into the final unbeaten and eager to cap off their impressive run with silverware.

“Our goal has always been to win every tournament we participate in,” said Head Coach Tonny Arinaitwe. “We’ve worked hard to reach the final, and on Thursday, we’re coming for victory.”

Coach Arinaitwe emphasized that the team is treating the competition as a preseason test, using the matches to improve finishing and goal conversion ahead of the new campaign.

With new additions such as Ivan Agamire Kanda, Brian Mattu, and experienced goalkeeper Jackson Kigozi, Garuga Stars will rely on their fresh talent and squad depth to deliver success.

Team captain Bonny Luuta also rallied the fans to come in large numbers to cheer the side.

“We promise entertaining football. Your support will push us to bring the championship home,” Luuta urged.

As the tension builds toward the final whistle on Thursday at 4 PM, Garuga Stars remain focused on one mission — lifting the Kataka Independence Cup trophy.
