Rwanda’s APR VC Overpowers KAVC to Maintain Perfect Start at CAVB Zone V Club Championship
Rwanda’s APR Volleyball Club continued their dominant run at the ongoing CAVB Zone V Club Championship in Kampala, securing a hard-fought 3-0 victory over Uganda’s KAVC. The Rwandan giants showcased their strength and composure, taking the sets 25-18, 25-22, and 25-23.
The first set was a clear display of APR’s firepower and KAVC’s struggles with service reception — an issue that has consistently plagued Ugandan teams against their Rwandan counterparts. APR cruised to a 25-18 win, establishing an early advantage.
The second set was a more competitive affair, as KAVC tightened their defense and displayed impressive blocking. It was a battle of errors, with APR committing 11 errors compared to KAVC’s 10. Despite KAVC’s best efforts, APR edged them out 25-22 to extend their lead.
KAVC’s Onapa put up a strong performance in the third set, showing flashes of brilliance with powerful attacks, but it wasn’t enough to break down APR’s solid defense. With both teams recording two blocks each, APR maintained their composure and sealed the set 25-23, wrapping up the match in straight sets.
The win keeps APR’s record unblemished, as they now sit comfortably with two victories from two matches. Meanwhile, KAVC slips to one win and one loss, making their next fixture a must-win if they hope to stay in contention.
With the championship heating up, APR’s relentless form makes them a formidable force, while KAVC will need to regroup and sharpen their game as they prepare for their upcoming match against Cobras of South Sudan.
