ESA Park premier league (EPPL), match day 5 action returns this Saturday with six games on the card, where two top placed teams Godfrey Tours and Touch Sound will lock horns with relegation strugglers ABC and Semutundu respectively.
New comers and bottom placed side ABC, a side that has managed a single point from the four outings will be targeting their first premier league victory against a high flying Godfrey Tours side with maximum points from the four games.
Log Leaders Godfrey Tours & Travel beat Goerge Otika’s FFA 6-0, while ABC lost painfully 3-2 to Semutundu-Guda.
Abdul Karim bagged a brace, Bruno Kaweesi, Kakeeto David, Innocent Luutu and Kawawa Samuel each found the back of the net once for Godfrey Tours.
It was a morale boasting win for Semutundu getting their first win and points of the season when they defeated ABC, and they will face Touch Sound this Saturday in the late kick off, a side that has also maintained a perfect start with four straight wins.
It is anticipated to be a tricky tie, both sides having won their last encounters,Touch Sound beat Cheaters 2-0 and Semutundu edged ABC 3-2.
Cranes’ captain Emma Okwi, KCCA FC’s Emmanuel Wasswa, Martin Seruwagi, Dennis Iguma and Claudel scored for Friends of Football (FOF) in 6-0 humiliation of Kayinja last weekend.
Okwi was impressed with his team’s display while speaking to ESA Park media and expressed their desire to keep winning games after their second straight win.
We started poorly but that doesn’t mean we can’t fight on win the other games and finish up there. After the first two losses we had to pick up our selves and prove that we are a very strong side and that’s why we are winning now.
He also spoke about his involvement in the EPPL as well as playing for particularly FOF.
I always love inspiring the next generation, you know FOF is everywhere and many of us were there so it’s part of us.” He added.
Other title challengers Monique at 9 points, after beating coach Robert Kakanga’s Public Beach, will look to capitalize on last weekend result against Cheetahs that lost to Touch Sound.
Seruwagi and Wasswa lead FOF’s goal scorers with 3 goals each with Okwi one behind them at two. They will play the third game of the day against struggling FFA.
The early kick off at 4pm, will see two sides CBICE and Public Beach tied at 6 points in 4th and 6th positions respectively face on in a do or die clash.
CBICE beat Skynet 2-0 in their last outing, and Public Beach will look on to getting back to winning ways having lost the last two matches.
