2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Bayo on Target As Uganda Fall to Algeria In Cameroon.

Fahad Bayo scored Uganda’s consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat to Algeria in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers second last group F game played at Japoma Stadium, Douala Cameroon.

Bayo connected well to Richard Basangwa’s well delivered ball in the 88th minute to give Ugandans false hope of getting a point(s) at home in Cameroon.

The visitors took the lead in the 42nd minute through M. Amoura when he capitalized on goal keeper Salim Jamal blunder after he mishandled the initial shot effort.

When the Cranes badly pushed for the equaliser, Manchester City star Rihad Mahrez assisted Amoura to double the dessert foxes’ lead with a well perfected counter attack.

Algeria mentained their 100% winning streak with a game left to complete the qualification campaign.

Uganda remained at 4 points in third place behind log leaders and second placed Tanzania.

Tanzania elevated to 7 points and will face red-hot Algeria in the last group games.
