ENTEBBE POLICE FC CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF THE WAKISO DISTRICT 5TH DIVISION LEAGUE

Entebbe Police Football Club are champions of the Wakiso District Football 5th Division League after a 2-1 win over Kyengeza United at Watoto Bbira Village playground.

Striker Nampardi was the hero, scoring both goals to put Police 2-0 up by the 85th minute.

Kyengeza United pulled one back late, but the defence led by captain Ssimbwa Herbert held firm to secure the club’s first silverware.

Coach Issa Katongole’s side finished top of Victoria North with 28 points.

Kyengeza United had topped Victoria South with 33 points, setting up a tight final at Bbira Village.

After the final whistle, Head Coach Issa Katongole couldn’t hide the pride “Am surely happy for the championship, and we, as Entebbe Police we are planning to win all the time.

And we pray that we win the Playoff finals to gain promotion.”

 

However, the job isn’t done. Entebbe Police FC now face Mityana DFA winners Namutamba Ndaiga FC in a home-and-away playoff final.

Win that, and they earn promotion to the Buganda Province 4th Division League next season.

Nampardi with the goals that turned noise into numbers, Kennedy Ssewankambo and Arafat British pulling strings in midfield like a conductors, Ssimbwa Herbert anchoring defence with the calm of a captain, and goalkeeper Mohammed keeping dreams alive when legs grew heavy.

Lastly, Nkumba Kataka FC survived the relegation and will stay in the 5th Division League next season.

Survival, too, is a story worth telling.
