Hosts Five Stars Football Academy, Lweza Starlets Soccer Academy, Tabu Sports Academy, Garuga Soccer Academy, The Lions Ntungamo, Kick it soccer academy and Burahya girls were triumphant wining titles of the different age categories in the Entebbe Holiday boys and girls football soccer camp 10th edition.
Currently the best youth soccer tournament in the country, was a success and climaxed on Sunday at Kisubi Technical playground with the different winners awarded with trophies, medals, cash prizes, jerseys and balls.
The tournament kicked off on 9th January, it saw over 50 teams from all round the country compete and successfully ended on with the final games that decided the new champions.
In the U-20 open category, Five Stars FA defeated neighbours Nkumba University 4-2 in an exciting encounter that ended in penalties after a 1-1 draw in the normal 90 minutes.
Lweza Starlets Soccer Academy revenged with 2-0 victory over Five Stars in the U-17 final, a team they had lost to (1-0) in the group match.
Tabu Sports Academy comfortably defeated Garuga SA 3-0 in the U-15 final to scoop the title.
In the U-13 category, Garuga edged The Lions SA 1-0 to ensure the title remains in Entebbe.
The U-11 title went to South western part of Uganda, The Lions from Ntungamo defeated Red star SA 10-9 in penalties after a 0-0 result in normal time.
The side from Masulita, Kick it SA won the U-9 title when they edged Nkumba Quality SA 1-0.
It was a tearful evening for Entebbe Queens Girls’ team loosing in penalties to Burahya Doves 3-2 after a goalless stalemate at normal time.
Five Stars FA won the overall champion title after collecting the most points (40) from all their under age categories and they pocketed UGX 1million.
Garuga SA came second overall with 33 points and got UGX 500.000 with Lions Sports Academy from Ntungamo finishing 3rd with 30 points.
Uganda Cranes player and Former KCCA & Vipers SC star Paul Mucurezi graced the finals.
