Masaza Cup: Kyaggwe kickstart edition with win over Buvuma

Kyaggwe registered a hard earned 1-0 win against Buvuma in the second game of Bulange group in the 2021 Buganda Masaza Cup at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday evening.

Gerald Ogwetti’s second half penalty gave Kyaggwe all points in a tight encounter.

Kyaggwe started away in high gear, looking for an early goal but Buvuma repulsed their early threats.

In the 28th minute, Kyaggwe’s forward Jackson Ssemugabi pulled off a strong shot but his effort went off the target by a few inches.

The first stanza of the game ended goalless with no clear chance created, though Kyaggwe commanded more posession than their opponents Buvuma.

In the 58th minute, forward Gerald Ogweti converted from the spot to give Kyaggwe the deserved lead.

The result means that Kyaggwe are level on points with Busiro with three points and the same goal difference at the helm of the log.

Kyaggwe returns to action on Friday December 10 against Busiro at 4 pm while Buvuma will play Bugerere at noon on matchday two of Bulange.
