KCCA FC confirm new captain & season 2026/27 squad

Kampala Capital City Authority Football club set to kick off the 2026/27 season against NEC football on Sunday, have confirmed their squad and Coach Brian Senyondo has named new captains in a hunt for their 14th league title.

Academy graduate Hebert Achai has been named new captain and will be deputized by defenders Philbert Ochan, Enock Walusimbi and Saidi Mayanja as 2nd, 3rd and 4th captains respectively according to Kccafc.co.ug.

The official announcement of the squad that is comprised of experienced players, young stars and academy graduates was made on the KCCA FC day 2026.

Among the new faces at Lugogo included are; defender Maxwell Owachgiu, midfielder; Ibrahim Kasule, Yunus Sibira, Elvis Ngondwe from SC Villa, forward Charles Lwanga who returned from SC Villa.

Exciting young star Alex Yiga, Brian Jjara, Yian Gatbel are some of the big prospects kept at Lugogo in the senior squad with Junior team stars; midfielder Thomas Ogema, goalkeeper Ashraf Lukyamuzi and striker Ismail Fahad also expected to feature for the senior team

KCCA FC finished in second position with 62 points behind champions Vipers SC that managed 67 points
