Ssonko Macheda: l Want to Win Masaza Title with Buddu.

 

Two time champions of the Masaza Cup, Buddu have added Bika tournament winner Richard Ssonko Macheda to their already strong squad.

 

Macheda at the unveiling, boldly pointed at winning the prestigious trophy as his main target.

” Bringing me at this stage of the competition, shows the trust the technical team have in me, which I have to pay back. I have played this competition before and I know how demanding the managers and fans could be but am very ready to put my body on the ground and collectively as a team I believe we can make these ambitious fans happy by winning them this year’s title.” He told Sport256 in an exclusive interview.

 

Ssonko, who was earlier linked to Ssingo, Buwekula among others before the Masaza Cup kicked off, ends up at Buddu after an impressive in the Bika tournament where he helped his clan Ngonge win the title.

 

” I think I can build on the Bika success to win the Masaza title as well, I believe Bika is more competitive being it involves all players; SUPL, Betpawa Big league and professionals which is not the case for Masaza which limits most of the top players.” He stated.

 

Mayanja also comes in as Buddu chase for their 3rd title.

 

” My immediate goal is to win this year’s title and shortly after am looking at elevating to the SUPL or moving for professional football if all goes well.” He added.

 

After an impressive show in Bika, the 22 year old recieved offers from some SUPL, Big league clubs and from else where.

 

He scored Five (5) goals for his clan, and the most important is the one he scored in the final against Mbogo at Wankulukuku. He assisted four times in the 10 games he played in the competition.

 

Buddu bring in a versatile skilled attacker, who prefers playing on both wings, behind the striker and can as well be employed as a center forward.

 

The energetic forward, gifted with magical quick feet, loves taking on opponents with his speed, carrying the ball, and can shoot with both his feet.

 

Macheda was unveiled on Wednesday along with another forward Shakibu Mayanja, before the team takes on Kyaddondo in the quarter final clash.

 

 

2016 and 2021 champions -Buddu will face Kyaddondo in the quarter final first leag away from home on Saturday 16th at Homesdalen in Gayaza and the return lead will be played the next Sunday at Masaka recreation grounds.

 

He has previously featured for Ssese in the Masaza and Entebbe Kitinda in the Wakiso District FA league.
