After recieving the news that club head coach Hussein Mbalangu has resigned, club captain Hillary Mukundane has used social media to appreaciate and say bye to Mbalangu.
The CAF A licence holder has left the club just after three months along with his technical team.
” It has been an honour and a privilege to work with you and to have you as a coach, thank you coach Mbalangu Hussein aka Al Shabab
#AnkoleLions .” Mukundane posted.
The 42 year old joined the Ankole lions in September 2021 and has only served the club for three months.
This development was confirmed by the document addressed to the club chairman on behalf of Mbalangu’s assistant Samuel Ssenyange and goalkeeping coach Jamada Magasi citing unfavorable working conditions.
The staement read like this;
“I am kindly addressing this letter to you on the above highlighted reference.We have come to this conclusion after observing a number of challenges raging from the welfare to administration”.
“Making matters worse, it’s same salary that we have to use for feeding, payment of our rental apartments and our entire families.We took over and tried to introduce some changes to ensure better performance of the team which was not positively welcomed by some of administrative members because we were breaking their scheme.
Nothing much should be said here but all can be well explained in one of the famous quote, the ship doesn’t sink more of the water outside rather than that inside it. The technical department tried t’s best to convince some players recently in order to reinforce the team for the second round but the administration was reluctant to engage these players who ended up joining other teams, on top of endure a lot since day one rightly from the challenges that were echoed by our predecessor from squad quality, welfare and lack of equipment.”
“This time around this is beyond our control as we feel there is lack of unity within the club. It seems some individuals have their personal agendas.On behalf of the technical team of:Assistant head Coach: Ssenyange Nsanziiro Samuel Goal keeping Coach: Magasi Jamada
