Vipers Maintain Perfect League Start with Slim win Over resilient Maroons
Reigning league champions, Vipers SC registered their third consecutive win of the season with a hard fought 2-1 victory over a high spirited Maroons side in the StarTimes Premier league game played at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday night.
Yunus Junior Sentamu and Arafat Usama first half goals were enough for the venoms to get maximum points- the club’s third win of the season, in the three games played so far in their title defense campaign.

Club hit-man Sentamu found the opener in the second minute of the game and shortly in a 6 minutes interval, electric winger Usama doubled the lead when he used his pace well to beat his mark to find the lower corner of the net.
Pressure mounted on the hosts when the visitors pulled one back in the 53rd minute when they capitalised on Obua’s long through that accidentally hit Mukundane for an own goal.
Midfielder Ivan Mayanja made an instant impact when he was brought on for Abel Etrude and he got the best opportunity for the visitors after Nunda calmly picked him up but failed to hit the target. The other clear chance was Raymond Walugembe’s header, which he failed to hit the target from close range.

Mark Yallah that started as Vipers lead striker, before being stretched off injured, he had also got chance to find the back of the net but his effort went into the side net.

Vipers’ Midfielder Watambala who was named Man of the match, was also denied by the wood work when he connected well to Enock Luyima well delivered cross and substitute Allan Okello’s header effort went wide from close range.

At the end of the game, Club captain Milton Karisa had a message to the St Mary’s Kitende students and the first fans of the club who are getting their holidays
On behalf of fellow players, we would love to thank you so much for your support and we wish you the best through out the holiday. Karisa stated.
