Kitara FC Parts Ways with Coach Brian Ssenyondo After Difficult Start to the Season
In a significant shake-up, Kitara FC has parted ways with head coach Brian Ssenyondo, alongside his entire technical team, following a disappointing start to the Uganda Premier League season. The decision comes after a series of lackluster performances, including a recent loss to BUL FC that served as the final straw for the club’s management.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Sunday evening, highlighting the challenges faced by the team this season. Despite a promising tenure last year, where Ssenyondo led Kitara to a historic victory in the Stanbic Uganda Cup and an impressive fourth-place finish in their league debut, this season has seen the team struggle significantly. Currently, Kitara sits third from the bottom of the league table, having lost three home games and finding themselves in a precarious position.
Rumors of Ssenyondo’s potential dismissal had been circulating in Hoima, although he maintained confidence in his leadership, stating that he had not lost the support of his players. Nonetheless, the club’s poor performance prompted the board to make the difficult decision to part ways with the coach.
As Kitara FC navigates this transition, the club has not yet announced a replacement for Ssenyondo. The team will now focus on regrouping ahead of their next match against URA FC at Hamz Stadium, where both sides are in desperate need of three points.
With the pressure mounting, Kitara will be looking to turn their fortunes around and shake off the disappointment of recent weeks as they prepare for a challenging encounter.
