Beautieful Beginnings School hungry for more success after winning the FUBA Primary School League.

Beautiful Beginnings School (BBS), Sissa clinched the U-11 Federation of Uganda Basketball (FUBA) youth and mini Bmbasketball primary schools League title when they defeated St Patrick 26-15 in the final.

Before reaching the final, the young BBS army registered convicing victories over Sir Apollo (35-20) and Twinbrooks (37-27) in the semifinals and quarter finals, respectively.

During the first round games, BBS beat Kampala Community International School (KCIS) – 24:18, defeated City Parents 32-18, and Hill preparatory edged them 24:20.

Round two, saw the Ssisa based primary basketball giants, win all the three games 39:28 against KCIS, 35:20 against City Parents and 21:18 versus Hill preparatory.

In the U-13 boys and girl’s categories , BBS smashed bronze, the boys beat City Parents 32:18, and the girls were also deating the same school 28:02.

BBS hunger to win all the titles ended at the semifinal stage, after the boys (U-13) were eliminated by Sir Apollo with a 37:21 score and the Girls also knocked out by the same opponent 27-22.

At the quarter-final stage, BBS U-13 Boy’s team thumped Twinbrooks 37:04, and the girls, after the second round, qualified direct to the semifinals.

Mr Enock Mwanje -the founding director was happy with success achieved for the school that has been in existence for only four years and expressed the school’s desire to achieve more.

As a founder of the school, I am a sportsman and a very passionate person about sports, so we try to give these kids opportunities. The schools we compete with in this tournament are doing well in classrooms, which we also do. So it’s not by chance that our first PLE Class all our children passed very well and our best got seven aggregates.

We well know, that where the country is heading will be more about what these kids can do outside the classroom, that’s why we have a soccer academy, basketball program, we train these kids practical work like Urban gardening, we train cookery, financial Literacy, leadership and public speaking with the main objective making sure we produce a whole child.

Lastly, we give opportunities to children who are not financially well but are talented. Last year, our first P.7 candidates and the first basketball league we gave out opportunities to four of our kids to get bursaries in high school, so as a school, we try to transform lives using sport and academics.
