Fortebet Real Stars Awards: NEC FC’s Ssebwalunyo, Ekau, Aturinda stars of April.

NEC Football Club Goalkeeper Hannigton Ssebwalunyo, Edwin Ekau, Alex Aturinda were crowned kings of April at the Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards held today Tuesday 5th May at Nanjing Restaurant in Kampala.

Rizelife star Ekau, saw off competition from City Oilers’ Faheed Baale and Tracy Namugose of KCCA Leopards for the Basketball award after averaging 20 points per game.

NEC FC Goalkeeper Ssebwalunyo adding number of goals to his name, he is proving to be among the best Goalkeepers on the land beat Maroons FC Midfielder Ivan Mayanja and SC Villa forward Frank Ssebuufu his first ever Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly award.

Hannigton Ssebwalunyo won the footballer of the month award.

 

The prestigious award, was handed over to the Fumbe Clan Goalkeeper Ssebwalunyo by Eron Nandawula who represented Jude Colour solutions at the event.

To join the winners of the awards, which are continuing to grow bigger since their inception in 2018, Ssebwalunyo kept 5 clean sheets in April and added two goals as a goalkeeper.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony held on Tuesday morning a happy Ssebwalunyo thanked God, teammates and organizers for the initiative.

I am grateful to God for enabling me to win this. This award is a result of unity in my team plus the push from fellow players, mostly the goalkeepers at the club; they always give me competition. I am grateful for the organizers and the sponsors.

The 36 year old Ugandan international played for Buleemezi Ssaza, Ndejje University before featuring for BUL FC, Maroons FC and URA FC in the StarTimes Uganda premier league.

For starters, Fortebet Real Stars Sports Awards (since 2018) are monthly accolades awards are organized by the Real Stars Sports Agency in Uganda celebrating outstanding athletes accross disciplines like Football, athletics , boxing, motorsport sponsored by Fortebet with Jude Colour solutions, to recognize top talent in the country.

January Winners: Vipers SC midfielder Karim Watambala won, alongside Jacob Kiplimo.

February Winners: Badminton player Fadilah Shamika Rafi won after her 2026 Africa Senior Badminton Championship gold, alongside Chess player Mark Nyola Wasswa.
