
SUPL: Ngoobi on Target as BUL defeat Express
The Eastern Giants Bidco Uganda Limited (BUL) Football Club defeated Express FC 2-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league game played at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on Wednesday night.
Uganda Hippos forward Richard Okello opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a close tap in and before the break midfielder Pascal Ngoobi put the icing on the cake with a clinical finish.
Winger Martin Aprem, got an opportunity to double the lead with a keeper to beat before Ngoobi’s goal, but was denied by goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa who was later substituted at half time.
Express first half golden chances, both fell to new signing Senoga Kagawa, but was denied by goalkeeper Mutakubwa in the 21st minute and before the break was denied by right back Hillary Onek block.
The hosts got an early blow, when lead striker Ssenyonjo got injured and was replaced by Conrad Senjogera.
The Red Eagles, made quick half time substitutions; Mike Kagiri came in posts to replace Kalyowa and forward John Asiimwe replaced Gaganga and later Stephen Senfuka came on for Kagawa.
Matama replaced new signing Karim Ndugwa, Kalyowa came on for Mpasa, Vianey Ssekajugo replaced Aprem and Isaac Musiima came on for Okello for the visitors.
Express Captain Wasswa Emmanuel was booked for a foul on Kalyowa and left back Mwere on the other hand recieved the booking for reckless play on Asiimwe.
With 16 games played each, Express remain in 3rd place with 25 points and BUL elevate to 6th place with 23 points 2 behind the Red Eagles
