Uganda Cup: UPDF, Ondu Face Minnows, Big Test Awaits Holders BUL at Round of 32.

 

Stanbic Uganda cup holders BUL FC will face 2014/15 cup champions and 16 times league champions SC Villa at round of 32 stage according to the draws held today at FUFA complex in Mengo.

 

Reigning champions will host the biggest fixture at the round of 32 stage of the oldest competition at FUFA technical center in Njeru.

 

It will be a huge task for one time champions BUL FC to knock out the 9- times champions of cup SC Villa.

 

It was a good pick for top tier clubs; Onduparaka FC and UPDF FC that will face Lower division(s) clubs Junior Eagles and Bunyaruguru FC respectively.

 

Last year’s finalists and reigning league champions Vipers SC will have a tricky trip to Busoga region to face FUFA Big league side Jinja North.

 

The Venoms will be targeting their third cup title having beaten BUL 8-1 and Onduparaka FC 3-1 in the 2001 and 2015/16 finals respectively.

 

Other big boys KCCA FC will take on either Gorilla Highlands or FBL side Kataka at this stage.

 

Wakiso Giants will have a tough trip to Lira to face fellow SUPL side Blacks Power.

 

After shocking Gadaffi FC, team to watch Kiyinda Boys will host FBL side Kigezi Home Boys.

 

Express FC is another SUPL team that will be lucky to play at home and will host FBL side Lugazi United FC.

 

The round of 32 games will be played between 11th and 20th February 2023.
