USSSA ARUA 2022: Big Wins For Kibuli, Standard High & Mukono Kings

Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) national post Primary Giants Kibuli SS, Standard High School Zzana, Mukono Kings, St Mary’s Kitende, Numasa and Sironko progressive were victors in their Match day 6 Sunday Fixtures.

Kampala District representatives Kibuli needed a late goal against St Mary’s Rushoroza in the 11am fixture at Greenlight Stadium to increase their chances of making it out of group C.

Kibuli (14 points) fighting for the second slot in group C with West Ville (11), face off with high flying Royal Giant that have already qualified as log leaders with maximum 18 points on Monday.

Standard High School Zzana and Buddo SS returned to winning ways with a 4-2 and 1-0 wins against Ngora and Gombe High School respectively.

Travis Mutyaba’s Gombe High School finished with 10 men after their left back was sent off early in the first half for misconduct.

Andrew Mukasa brace, Shamiru Mudiba and Hassan Kalungi scored for Nestroy Kizito’s side to keep their hopes live of making it out of a tough group D led by Mukono Kings with 14 points.

Holders St Mary’s Kitende also needed a late Ivan Irinimbabazi strike to edge Buremba SS 1-0 and will face Nile High Arua on Monday morning in the top of the table clash.

Mukono Kings thumped Tororo Town College 4-1 in other group D game.

Ismail ‘Keita’ Ndifuna bagged a hat-trick and Najib Alawi found the other for the Mukono district and regional champions.

St Henry’s College Kitovu beat Kijiji 3-0, Jinja SS defeated Boston 2-1 and Kawempe Muslim humiliated St John Bosco 4-0.

Group games action resumes on Monday and will end on Tuesday.

Round of 16 knock out games will be played on Wednesday according to the organising Committee.
