Mudasir Ijosiga’s lone strike ensured Amus College School will face St Mary’s Kitende in the semifinals of the USSSA Boy’s Football Championship held in Lira City at Lira Town College.
Amus beat London College 1-0 at the quarter final stage and record champions SMASK thumped Numasa 6-0 to square at the next stage of the competition.
Dennis Kisiriko bagged a hat-trick for Kitende, Isaac Ssekate, Claude Wakenge and Jordan Tugume with a piece each at Dr Obote College pitch II.
Simon Wanyama scored for Bukedea in the first stanza, and later in the dyeing minutes, Isaac Kafuuma leveled to send the game to penalty kicks.
Simon Wanyama, Musa Godi, Bob Jeriga, and Patrick Ssenkusa scored their kicks for the East African champions.
BCS goalkeeper Tonny Katangalo saved Ali Ssemakula and Isaac Kitty kicks with Pius Ekusai the only scorer on the evening.
Hakim Senkumba coached side Kyaddondo SS, will take on Bukedea Comprehensive-South at Lira Town College Playground and St Mary’s Kitende will face off with Amus College at Dr Obote playground at the same time (11am) in the two semifinals.
Earlier at 9am, Edema Bashir scored from the penalty spot for Kyaddondo SS to eliminate two-time champions and holders Buddo SS at the quarter final stage.
