Enyabu sends Garuga into 3rd round of Uganda Cup
Entebbe-based Garuga Stars Football Club, a 4th Division League team, has secured a spot in the 3rd round of the 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup following an impressive away victory against Free Stars FC in Mukono.
The day’s heroes, Joseph Ssekyanzi “Kamba” and Joseph Enyabu “Kanyanya,” each netted a goal to seal the victory. Ssekyanzi opened the scoring in the 13th minute, capitalizing on a perfectly timed through ball from Jessy Mukiibi. The precision and execution left the Free Stars defense exposed, giving Garuga a deserved lead.
In the second half, Enyabu “Kanyanya” added the second goal, which all but confirmed Garuga Stars’ progression to the next round. His clinical finish highlighted his composure and solidified the team’s dominance on the day.

Earlier in the tournament, Garuga Stars eliminated Kiyinda Young FC with a 2-1 victory at Cherish Grounds during the first-round game. Now, they are set to face Synergy FC in the 3rd round, scheduled to be played in Ndeeba, Kayunga District, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
