KCCA FC traveled to Lugazi to face BUL FC in what many considered a crucial clash in the Startimes Uganda Premier League. With both teams vying for a top position in the league, this match promised to be an exciting showdown.
The first half unfolded as a tightly contested affair. KCCA FC’s goalkeeper, Mugolofa, made a standout save in the 24th minute, denying Jerome Kirya’s low strike and keeping the score level. However, despite some promising counter-attacking opportunities, KCCA FC struggled to capitalize, particularly through winger Katenga, who had a golden chance in a two-on-one situation against BUL FC’s goalkeeper, Mutakubwa. Unfortunately, Katenga’s shot went wide, leaving KCCA FC frustrated.
In the midfield, BUL FC’s Ramsey Kawooya showcased his dominance, controlling the tempo of the game. His strong performance led to a challenging outing for KCCA FC’s defensive midfielder, Joel Sserujongi, who found himself in hot water with eight fouls committed—a testament to the pressure he faced.
As the second half commenced, KCCA FC coach Abudalla Mubiru made a tactical adjustment, bringing on Ashraf Mugume for Bright Anukani. This change paid off when Mugume capitalized on an unmarked position in the box, scoring the opener with a well-placed header in the 59th minute.
However, BUL FC was quick to respond. In the 75th minute, Jerome Kirya struck back with a beautifully executed low shot that zipped past KCCA FC’s defenders, leveling the score and securing BUL FC’s second draw of the campaign.
The game ending goalless with teams sharing the spoils.
With KCCA FC now sitting on four points will face Kitara FC at Lugogo while BUL FC continuing their quest for the first win this season under coach Abby Kikomeko will face Sc Villa on the 26th , both teams have shown promise as the season progresses.
