
Cranes striker Mukwala Speaks out after joining Tanzanian Giants
Uganda Cranes striker Steven Desse Mukwala has completed a move to Tanzanian side Simba SC from Ghana premier league side Asante Kotoko.
Mukwala has signed a three year deal with Simba SC, that will see him at the club until 2027.
On arrival to East Africa neighbours, the 25 year old, used his social media to express his readiness to deliver.
” It’s all but a new challenge and am aware of the task a head. Am proud to be a new lion in the City🔴
🦁NGUVU MOJA 💪.” He stated.
According to nbssport.co.ug, Raja Casablanca, Zamalek FC of Morocco and Egypt and Moldovan Premier League champions Petro Club were the other teams that had shown interest in the forward.
The experienced forward joins Simba SC from Asante Kotoko where he has spent two- seasons scored 25 goals in the 63 appearances.
The Edgar’s Youth programe graduate, played for Vipers SC, KCCA FC and Maroons FC in the Uganda premier league before moving to Ghana.
He scored One goal in the 8 appearances for Vipers in his SUPL debut season (2018/19), managed 17 in 43 appearances for Maroons between 2019-21 and scored 13 in 22 games at Lugogo.

Mukwala was signed by Vipers SC from Masaza Cup where he had featured for two-time winners Ssingo in 2017 but had earlier played for Buleemezi.
The energetic- speedy forward, who was first summoned to the Cranes in 2019 had scored one goal for his country in the 15 appearances.
Mukwala recieved his first call to the National team (U23), that played against Ghana and Cameroon where he scored one goal and was also part of the Uganda Squad that took part in the COSAFA Championships in Lesotho and he managed to help Uganda finish 3rd behind Egypt having scored 3 goals.
In February 2017, Mukwala was part of the Vipers Squad that won the Azam Uganda Premier League.
