Ceasor Manzoki Stars In Vipers SC Win Over Rivals SC Villa To go Top.

Congolese import Ceasor Manzoki put up a Man of the match performance in 3-0 humiliation of rivals SC Villa as the Startimes Uganda Premier league returned today at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The lanky forward, bagged a brace adding to Yunus Ssentamu’s early goal to complete the scoring on the day

Yunusu Ssentamu opened the scoring in the 6th minute and Manzoki found the back of the net in the 60th and 68th minute to complete the scoring on the day in a very disappointing game to the Villa faithful played on Wednesday evening.

Cranes forward and last season top scorer Sentamu gave the hosts the lead with a simple tap in on Milton Karisa minus as early as the 6th minute.

Manzoki capitalised on defensive midfielder Amir Kakomo lapse to double the lead and later headed in his second for the Venoms to kill of the game.

The visitors rare chances of the first half fell to Goffin Orwioth and Sadam Masereka but couldn’t find the target.

Goffin who was a live wire the whole evening, got another golden chance in the second half when Siraje Sentamu corrided with Lwaliwa but failed to find the target.

SC Villa head coach Petros Koukoras wasn’t contented with the match officiation the whole evening complaining about how his star man and young star Travis Mutyaba was being fouled minute after minute by Siraje Sentamu.

Petros was booked after 4th official Rajab Bakasambe advised Olemu to book the gaffer for over complaining.

There was a 1st half penalty appeal for SC Villa when Goffin was brought down in the area but referee Olemu wasn’t convinced and in the second half Travis Mutyaba went down in the area but the referee wasn’t convinced enough to award a penalty.

Midfielder Bright Anukani missed the best opportunity and move of the game, when he was set up by Karisa and Yunusu.

Darling Frank Zaga Tumwesigye was given a standing ovation on making his debut on his second stint at St Mary’s Stadium coming on for Yiga Najib late in the second half

 

Manzoki was named Pilsner Man of the Match.

The Venoms at 33 points are two points ahead second placed KCCA FC who face Onduparaka in a game to be replayed on Thursday, 3rd February 2022.
