Vipers SC return to winning ways after commanding win over newcomers Ntugasaze.

Vipers Sports Club returned to winning ways with a 3-0 comfortable win against Startimes Uganda premier league new boys Ntugasaze FC, having won their last game 2-0 four months ago against Express FC.

The venoms drew both CAF Champions league games against Mauritanian giants FC Nouadhibou 1-1 at home, 0-0 away from home, and the champions went ahead to lose the first league game 1-0 at home against UPPC FC.

Gusto Mulongo, exciting winger Chukuma Odili, and Ceasar Manzoki scored for the Venoms in a 3-0 commanding victory over debutants Ntungasaze FC in the StarTimes Uganda premier game played on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Vipers, got their first win of the season to jump out the danger zone to 11th position on the log, having lost the league opener against rivals in the Entebbe road derby.

Striker Mulongo opened the scoring in the 27th minute feom a well delivered corner with a close range header, and Chukuma doubled the lead with a sublime strike from 35 yards, thanks to a well delivered Farouk Miya pass.

Ceasar Manzoki also opened his goal account in the 63rd minute with a simple finish when he capitalized well on Usama Arafat cut back.

Early in the first half, Gusto Mulongo was denied by the goalkeeper from close range in 2nd minute and in the 4th minute, winger Chukuma sent his left footed shot into the side net.

The hosts conrinued to show early signs of hunger, midfielder Abdul Katim Watambala in 14th minute, tried from long range but his shot went off target.

On the 24th minute mark, Mulongo headed in a well delivered right back Madela cross but was denied by the offside flag.

Farouk Miya before setting up fellow substitute Ernest Ankunda, who also missed, Miya also missed getting on the score sheet when his effort went inches off the mark.

The visitors’ rare chances fell to midfielder Mayindi who attempted from long-range but failed to hit the target midway the first half.

Also new signing Kakonge Arafat, also tried from long range but couldn’t beat goalkeeper Mbaba.

Defender Tarabina got an opportunity to double the lead before halftime, but his header went over the bar.

The win meant, the Venoms elavated to 11th position with 3 points with two games played so far, and Ntugasaze remained at the bottom, pointless in the four outings heading into the international break.
