14 DAYS TO GO: KATAKA MEMORIAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT “BULESA” RETURNS JUNE 18

The wait is almost over.

The Kataka Memorial Football Tournament, popularly known as Bulesa, is back — and kickoff is exactly 14 days away.

The annual summer showpiece kicks off Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Nkumba Kataka Playground along Entebbe Road, right after Uganda’s local league season wraps up.

More than football

Bulesa was founded to honor departed footballers, fans, and managers from the football fraternity.

Every pass, tackle, and goal of this tournament is a tribute to their memory.

The competition

What makes Bulesa special is the level.

Uganda Premier League stars light up the pitch, and teams invest heavily because everyone wants to lift the crown.

That’s why it’s widely regarded as the best summer tournament in the country.

Defending champions ABC FC led by team President Wasswa Ramos, return to defend their title.
