Stanbic Uganda Cup Final: Kitara FC Appeals to FUFA for Change of Venue Against SC Villa.
Stanbic Uganda Cup 2026 Final.
- Kitara Vs SC Villa
- 30th May 2026
- FUFA Kadiba stadium
Kitara Football Club has handed in their official appeal to the Football governing body FUFA to change the earlier communicated venue- FUFA stadium Kadiba Stadium for their last Stanbic Uganda Cup showdown with SC Villa expessing fairness to the two finalists.
Earlier, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) confirmed the 52nd Stanbic Uganda Cup final will be played on 30th May 2026, at a fee of shs 20.000 at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.
The 2023/24 season cup champions Kitara FC in hunt for their second title, will take on nine-time winners in this year’s cup final.
According to Club CEO Joshua Atugonza the Royals, feel it’s a unfair decision to play against SC Villa in a final at their home ground.
” We acknowledge receipt of Circular No. FUFA/COMP/SUC/52/2026 dated 20th May 2026, regarding the organisation of the 52nd Stanbic Uganda Cup Final between Kitara FC and SC
Villa scheduled to take place at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba. Kitara FC respectfully writes to request FUFA to reconsider the designated venue for the Final in
the interest of fairness, neutrality, and sporting integrity. Whereas Article 22 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup Regulations grants FUFA the mandate to
determine the Final venue, we are concerned that FUFA Stadium, Kadiba is currently the home
ground of SC Villa, which gives our opponents an inherent sporting advantage in terms of familiarity, supporter access, and match environment. It would have been understandable if the Final venue had been declared at the beginning of the
competition before the participating finalists were known. However, announcing Kadiba as the venue at the final stage of the competition when SC Villa has already qualified creates aperception of unfairness and undermines the principle of neutrality expected. Finalists who have equally earned the right to compete for the trophy, we humbly appeal to
FUFA to designate a neutral venue that guarantees equal sporting conditions for both clubs and
preserves the integrity and credibility of the competition. We trust FUFA will give this matter the serious consideration it deserves in the interest of
fairness and the good of Ugandan football. Kitara FC remains committed to cooperating fully with FUFA towards a success Uganda.” The official realese stated..
Kitara FC knocked out 2026 league champions Vipers after a 1-all draw away from after a 0-0 draw at home and opponents SC Villa eliminated URA FC 3-0 on aggregate.
With a single game of the SUPL to play, Kitara FC finished the season in 4th position with 55 points and behind SC Villa in 3rd position with 58 points.
