Hassan Mubiru recieves maiden call as Put names provisional 28 man Cranes squad.

Uganda will face Tanzania on 5th June 2026 before taking on Madagascar on 8th June 2026 as preparations continue for upcoming international assignments leading to the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2027, which will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

The squad includes a blend of experienced players and emerging talent drawn from clubs across Uganda, Africa, Europe and the United States of America.

Speaking to Fufa.co.ug about the selection, Head Coach Paul Put noted that the matches will provide an important opportunity to assess the team ahead of the upcoming qualification campaign.

‘I think these will be two good games to test where we are as a team. Qualifiers for AFCON 2027 start soon in September, October and November, so we need to be prepared.’

‘This squad also includes some new names, including local players who have shown their potential and talent this year. I want to give them a chance.’

‘We also had to deal with injuries. Players like Toby Sibbick are not 100% fit, and Elio Capradossi, Nafian Alionzi and Jude Ssemugabi are carrying injuries. Uche has not been playing regularly because his team’s season ended early, so he is not in this squad. These are the selections for this campaign.’ Put stated.
