EVERY WINNER AT THE UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2025/2026 AWARDS CEREMONY
The Association of Uganda University Sports hosted the University Football League 2025/26 awards ceremony at Kati Kati Hotel, where the season’s standout players and teams were celebrated.
Champions Muteesa I Royal University dominated the night, claiming the majority of the top awards after their historic first UFL title.
Lutwama Ali steals the show for his creativity in the Muteesa I Royal University midfield.
He emerged as the biggest winner of the evening.
Lutwama walked away with three individual awards; Most Valuable Player, Most Assists, and Best Midfielder.
His influence was undeniable throughout the season, finishing with 4 goals and 4 assists as he drove the Royals to championship glory.
Veteran masaka tactician Ssengabi George William was named Coach of the Season for his role in guiding Muteesa I to their maiden UFL crown.
Moreso in goal, Kevin Ssenabulya of YMCA Comprehensive Institute earned Best Goalkeeper after conceding just 3 goals throughout the tournament.
Adding to the defensive honours, Agaku Vicent of St Lawrence University was awarded Defender of the Season after edging Kampala University’s Nsubuga Benjamin in a tight contest.
Other award winners also stood out;
Leather striker Obedgiu Ronald from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi finished with 5 goals to claim the Golden Boot award.
In addition, debutant Aheebwa David of Mountain of the Moon University impressed on his first season, netting 4 goals to win the New Player of the Season award.
Furthermore, Onyait Stephen of Kumi University was honoured as Sports Tutor of the Season for guiding Kumi to their first-ever quarterfinal appearance.
Finally, Kateete Brian won Goal of the Season for his spectacular strike in the MUBS Vs St Lawrence University match.
