TEAM KIKOMPOLA RISE TO THE TOP AFTER BRILLIANT MD 11 & 12 DISPLAY IN THE GOOD FRIENDS SUPER FOUR LEAGUE

Team Kikompola now sits on top of the Good Friends Super Four League table after Matchday 11 & 12 at SPN Turf, Namulanda.

The young side sealed a hard-fought 2-1 win over two-time finalists Team Muliro to take full control of the title race.

Kikompola struck early. Striker Nampardi gave them the lead and midfielder Azeedi doubled it before the break to make it 2-0 at halftime.

Muliro came out composed after the restart and pulled one back through Mugwanya.

The two-time finalists pushed for an equalizer and had chances Kushy missed a one-on-one, and Wamala Joseph’s penalty was saved by Kikompola keeper Mandanda.

Kikompola held firm till referee Muzika Daniel blew the final whistle.

The win moves them to 10 points and top of the log.

Goalkeeper Mandanda, named Man of the Match, was confident after the game.

Earlier, Masanyalaze held Team Bbomu.

In the 6:00pm kickoff, defending champions Team Masanyalaze picked up a vital point in a 1-1 draw with Bbomu.

Bbomu led through Arafat, who scored from a rebound and was later named Man of the Match.

_“We thank God for the point, and I thank my idol Steven Luswata Musoloza who always motivates me,”_ Arafat said.

But Masanyalaze hit back when defender Katumwa fouled Brian Omony “Virus”.

Entertaining midfielder Sirajje Kisekka stepped up and converted the penalty his 4th goal of the tournament, which now puts him on top of the scorers chart.

The Good Friends Super Four League continues next Friday with two more games at SPN Turf, Namulanda.

With Kikompola now top and Kisekka leading the Golden Boot race, the final round is heating up.
