USSA 2025: Kibuli, BCS, Buddo Match on as Greenlight Islamic shock AMUS College
Big boys Kibuli SS, Buddo SS, St Mary’s Kitende, Bukedea Comprehensive school (BCS) and St Julian, all registered victories in their round of 32 games played on Saturday morning in the USSSA games hosted at Ngora High School.
Ten-time Champions Kibuli SS, registerd a convincing 4-1 win over neighbours Buziga Islamic and Richard Malinga’s Buddo SS put three past Bugisu high to storm the round of 16 stage.
Coach Kawooya Felix Ssekabuza at the helm at St Julian, needed accuracy in spot-kicks to knock out hosts Ngora High 3-1 to book a date with JIPRA at the round of 16 stage on Sunday morning.
Record champions St Mary’s Kitende, beat Bishop Comboni 3-0 and will face BSK at the next stage that eliminated Bugisu High (3-0).
Underdogs Greenlight Islamic knocked out AMUS College (4-3) in penalties in what is termed as the shocker of the round of 32 stage and will take on Uganda Matyrs tomorrow.
Other Teso region representatives BCS, knocked out Ceasor Okhuti coached side Mvara SS 5-4 in a tense penalty shot out at Ngora High play ground and will face Kawempe Muslim at the round of 16 level.
Kampala region side Kawempe thumped Kisozi Seed 4-0 and will have a bigger test against BCS at the next stage.
Fans favourite Blessed sacrament Kimanya (BSK) because of their apertizing tic-tac football, beat Mumsa High School 1-0, and will take on SMASK on Sunday.
With classification games for the teams that were eliminated at group stage level going on this Saturday evening, all the round of 16 games are set to be played on Sunday morning.
