Isaac Ogwang Fit as KCCA FC’s Mubiru Complains About the 24-Hour Rest Period for the Mega Clash

The Urban big Derby is on tonight at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, where KCCA FC will host Vipers SC in what many term the biggest derby in Ugandan football. The stakes are high as both Vipers SC looks to extend their at the summit while KCCA FC can not afford another stumble against the top two teams in intense battle under the floodlights.

KCCA FC has had the better of Vipers SC in their last three meetings, registering two wins and a draw while Vipers edge KCCA in the head-to-head in the Uganda Premier League, with the latter on 15 victories against the former’s 14, with nine ties ending in draws.. However, their recent 0-1 LOSS to NEC FC is still fresh in the players’ minds, something that KCCA coach Abdalla Mubiru acknowledges. The team failed to convert on their chances in the final thirds a vice he mentioned in his post match presser earlir this weak.

Meanwhile, Vipers SC has received a major boost with positive news regarding Isaac Ogwang. Earlier in the week, scans revealed no significant damage to his knee. It was diagnosed as a soft tissue injury requiring minor treatment, but it is nothing too serious, keeping hopes alive for his participation.

Team captain Milton Karisa is now out of rehabilitation and fully ocused on working on his fitness levels. He is stepping up his strength and conditioning training in preparation for a return to full match fitness.

Derrick Ndahiro and Marvin Joseph Youngman are also available again after serving their respective suspensions, giving Vipers SC more options in their squad.

However, the visitors will be without Rogers Torach, who will miss the trip to Lugogo due to suspension after picking up his third yellow card of the Uganda Premier League season in their match against URA FC.
