Coach Kizito Figo speaking to Sports256 media

We are happy that we have won the game though we haven’t played well but most importantly is the three points, it’s not a bad start for the team, about main target is to take the team to the Zonal mini league so that we can qualify for the Regional league this season, so getting three points is very important for us, we shall take on a game by game and now our focus is on the second away game. Seruwagi scoring..,,! wasn’t surprise to many of those who knows his quality, we were on the bench and I told colleagues that he has to score that, because we know his quality so being one of the senior players in team helping the team to win is expected of him and what he showed up today is a good reflection of our future ahead. It is very good that this year we have many young players and we have blended in a few seniors to help them but unfortunately we missed out many players that haven’t gotten their licences. So in our next game, we shall try to improve on how we have played today but with the aim of getting maximum points away from home.” Figo added.

Veteran player, formerly at SC Villa and Aurum Roses FC, Patrick Agaba, who transferred from Entebbe FC back to Kataka FC, was happy to have helped the he team get the required result to start off the season.

Coach/Player Agaba Patrick Speaking to the media after the Kataka game.

This is home am happy to be back, I also want to urge those of you out there who have played to different levels it’s always good to return back home after active very active football. We are aware of where we ended last season at the Zonal mini league but this time around, every player is available, we have experienced, young ones and we have a strong technical staff. About Sseruwagi’s goal, this has been his strongest weapon so most of us knew he was to score it. As senior players, we encourage the young stars to use this club as a stepping stone to achieve what some of us have achieved in football. The win means so much to us being our first game of the season, we had to fight for the three points missing out many of our players without licences.” Agaba stated.

Another Ex-footballer in charge of Entebbe Police Robert Kakanga, was greatful to the fans that turned up in large numbers and pointed at making a few corrections going forward.

I first of all appreciate the fans here, we have just started preparing this team and most of them are young boys but with time we believe it will be in position to play well. As Entebbe Police, the target as always been to help identify and help boys around develop, kill the iddle-ness, also to believe there is another life in football and I believe this is the 4th season we are doing it. We want to help this team get to another level, but like I earlier said, we have just started preparing them, some don’t play under instructions but they tried in the second to push hard so that we can get a point but unfortunately we didn’t. In our next game at home, we hope to work on a few mistakes today to paint the right picture to the fans.” Kaka concluded.

Kataka a side that lost the semi-final at the Zonal mini League in spot-kicks last year, targeting Regional league next year, kicked off on a bright note with a 1-0 win against bitter rivals.
